Ashley Dennis, Development Director joined the DWDT team in October 2012 as Development Director. Although her main job responsibility is to run the company’s fundraising program, a typical day in the office for Ashley might also include marketing, public relations or other general administration tasks.
Ashley brings several years of nonprofit development experience to DWDT, previously serving as Associate Director of Donor Relations for the Office of Development at Texas Children’s Hospital and Development Associate at the Houston Zoo. In her previous roles, she gained knowledge and insight into all aspects of fundraising, including donor stewardship, grant writing and e-philanthropy.
After receiving her bachelor’s degree in political science from Louisiana State University, Ashley attended the University of Houston Law Center before deciding on a career in Development.
She believes strongly in the importance of continuing education and has received extensive training through the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP), the Association of Donor Relations Professionals and the Rice University’s Center for Philanthropy and Nonprofit Leadership.
A third generation, native Houstonian, Ashley is committed to giving back to her community and is proud to support the efforts of other organizations, including the Houston Humane Society, the Houston SPCA and Houston Hospice.
Janet Benton, Office Manager, comes to DWDT with a background in video and film production, which includes writing, managing, budgeting and producing works for broadcast and the Web. Process and organization are her mantras, which comes in handy, mapping the flow of the busy DWDT office. Way back in her background are a few plies and an appreciation for the dance arts. She is glad to be a part of the creative world of DWDT.
Donna De Poalo, Marketing & Development Consultant, lives in Sarasota, Florida.
